Although fans were initially impressed with the prospect of a December 2016 release for Season 3, Mr. Poopybutthole may have been closer the truth.

Den Of Geek points out that earlier reports that "Rick And Morty" Season 3 release in December 2016 may have been confirmed by episode completion by Sept 28 may be too optimistic. According to the media outlet, a 2017 premiere of the series on Adult Swim is becoming the more likely. This is not without basis as the announcement by Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon or the team at Adult Swim has yet to be made.

The wait for "Rick And Morty" Season 3 borrow much anticipation from the fact the Rick Sanchez is about the break out from a prison sentence set by the Intergalactic Federation.
