'Wayward Pines' Season 3 Air Date, Cast, News Update: Will FOX Series Overhaul Actors’ Line Up?

"Wayward Pines" Season 3 confirmation continues to be a waiting game for fans of the FOX series, but is the show in danger of overhauling the casting line up? Granted Season 2 had weaker ratings than the first season of the Blake Crouch trilogy adaption. However, the lack of confirmation by FOX on the final instalment of the series seems to now be compounded by the new projects that expected returnees for Season 3 are signing up for.

This article contains spoilers for the "Wayward Pines" series. Proceed only if willing to preview unseen details of the FOX series. Season 3 will reportedly be the final instalment in the three-season run of M. Night Shyamalan's adaptation.

Among the anticipated "Wayward Pines" Season 3 returnees is Toby Jones, who seems front and center in numerous high profile projects as "Sherlock" (with Benedict Cumberbatch) and "Jurassic World 3" as IMDb posts. Parent Herald cites reports that Nimrat Kaur, who plays Rebecca Yedlin, has also now signed up for a lead role in a new Indian biopic project.

In an earlier report by Vanity Fair, Jason Patric who played "Wayward Pines" Season 2 newbie Dr. Theo Yedlin, was also somewhat non-committal about future plans for the FOX series. Jason Patric admitted that he does not know where the show is headed after Season 2. The FOX series star is happy to wait out new developments from the powers that be until Season 3 release commitments are firmed.

Meanwhile, will "Wayward Pines" Season 3 see CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) take on a more active leadership role? As The Grio reports, Djimon Hounsou received a shock in real life when his young son expressed the desire to be light-skinned to qualify as a superhero. Given how CJ Mitchum had been quite laid back in Season 2, such a change for the FOX series could very well give Djimon Hounsou's young son something to watch.
