‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Spoilers: Fans Can Expect More Of Castiel And Angel Gabriel On Center Stage

Supernatural" executive producer Andrew Dabb gave out some major spoilers for the next episodes when the series returns in a new timeslot of 8 p.m. on January 26. Fans can expect more of Castiel (played by Misha Collins) and Angel Gabriel (played by Richard Speight) taking center stage in the succeeding episodes of "Supernatural."

Andrew Dabb told TVLine that they have prepared a minimum of three Castiel-dominant episodes for the fans of "Supernatural" when the series returns next year. The first of the three episodes will air on Feb. 2 where the plot will feature the missing chapter in the history of Castiel.

The executive producer recalled that they were able to establish the role of Cas as a member of a battalion that oversees Earth. They have also featured how Cas has harrowed Hell to save Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles). In the next episodes of "Supernatural," fans will get to see some twist in this arc.

Moreover, they will also incorporate a missing link from the backstory of Cas which involves Lily Sunder (to be played by Alicia Witt). "Supernatural" will feature Sunder as a former enemy of the angel.

Following this Feb. 2 episode, fans of "Supernatural" will witness a more "Cas-heavy" episode 19, but in a different way. Andrew Dabb explained that their effort to give Castiel the highlight he deserves is a balancing act for the series.

Furthermore, the EP confessed that they needed to cram greatly into the remaining episodes so they can allow the other characters like Castiel and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) to get little attention while they attempt to build these characters to eventually land on board with the other significant characters of "Supernatural."

The big shift is about to transpire in the next half of season 12 as fans of "Supernatural" will see more of Castiel. Andrew Dabb teased that they have more room to explore this character in the upcoming episodes.

Meanwhile, Angel Gabriel is reportedly having more screen time too in the next episodes of "Supernatural" season 12, ScreenerTV reported. Fans have missed this character in the previous season as Richard Speight took time to do the role of a director of one episode of "Supernatural."
