Brit Marling And Ian Alexander Discuss 'The OA' Season 2 But Plans Are Still Pending, Awaits For Netflix Renewal!

Netflix subscribers are waiting for a renewal confirmation of "The OA" Season 2. But even as this hasn't been announced yet, the show's co-creator, Brit Marling, who is also the lead star, is optimistic that there will be one.

The first season of "The OA" launched on the streaming platform on Friday, Dec. 16. But it left viewers with a lot of questions and confusion. Speaking with Daily Beast, Brit Marling said that they definitely have the answers to these if there will be a second season.

"[There are] threads that it would be very fun to continue," she said. "But you're going to have to wait and see."

Netflix quietly released "The OA" without any marketing until the week it was set to launch and even then, the promo ads had been cryptic. Perhaps the streaming giant is also keeping mum about the renewal until the last moments.

But the actress isn't one to rush a new season, too. After all, "The OA" has been in development for three years, she told Variety. "It's exciting to have that gap between one season and another and see how people feel about it."

Meanwhile, "The OA" has given rise to a TV discovery in Ian Alexander (Buck). This is the first acting job for the 15-year-old transgender Asian-American. He belongs to a rare demographic in the industry.

He told Vulture that he had an acting coach to prepare for his role in "The OA." But because his character was close to his own personality and had similar experiences, he was able to draw emotions from real life. "All those same emotions that I've felt in my life would come back," he said.

Ian Alexander hasn't heard anything about "The OA" Season 2 renewal either, but he is aware that Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have the ideas. He hopes that Buck would also get an expanded story about his background if that happens.
