No ‘Cruel Intentions’ Reboot Anytime Soon But ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Will Have A Movie Comeback?

Fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar will undoubtedly be thrilled to see the 39-year old actress revisit her roles from some of her most memorable shows. For now, however, her role as Kathryn Merteuil in the 1999 hit movie, "Cruel Intentions" seems to be out of the picture. However, to serve as a consolation, viewers can look forward to a modern movie version of the TV series that seems to have pioneered the shows that tackle bloodsucking creatures, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer."

An article from Deadline confirms that the planned reboot of "Cruel Intentions" is officially cancelled yet there are still hopes that this project may be redeveloped into a new concept. Earlier news about this revival claims that it is going to be a TV series on NBC and will see the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar.

However, NBC left the project hanging and its development was said to be transferred to Sony. Apparently, this move led to long discussions about the series revival which unfortunately led to nothing resolve. With this news, it is safe to assume that viewers will not be seeing the continuation of "Cruel Intentions" story on TV soon

To offset this sad news, an article from Den of Geek confirms that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" will indeed return to the cinemas. This reboot is made possible by Atlas Entertainment and Whit Anderson is set to create the script.

The article further informs that according to Anderson, the new Buffy in the upcoming movie will be a better version of the character from the TV series that ran from 1997-2003.Aside from that, no further details about this movie revival is out.
