Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Divorce Documentary Details Couple Actually Separated 2015; Dad Succeeds In Custody Battle So Far

The divorce and custody battle between Angelina Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt will be turned into a documentary. Ian Halperin, a celebrity biographer who wrote the book "Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie," confirmed he's behind the project.

Halperin revealed that before Jolie announced their split in September 2016, the couple were already separated in 2015. It was also the year they got married in France, 10 years after they lived together.

Halperin also revealed that it was Pitt who wanted to end the marriage. Before the official word got out, Pitt tried to privately dissolve their union at least six times, according to Be Entertainment.

"Angelina became terrified Brad would go public," Halperin said. The biographer said that the reason the couple's seemingly perfect relationship did not work out from the beginning is because Jolie and Pitt were "ill-suited" from the very beginning.

It's unclear when the documentary will be released. The Canadian writer, however, confirmed to The Wrap that he is indeed working on it. Representatives of the ex-couple have not commented on the planned documentary.

Meanwhile, the Jolie-Pitt kids have had a chance to stay with their father overnight and without supervision recently, MSN reports. Pitt's fight for custody has apparently turned in his favor since it was learned there was no cause to the reports he physically hit one of his kids.

A source revealed that Pitt is hoping that he can have the kids longer and it could be granted by the courts in the next few weeks. He has been fighting to get joint custody of the six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Know and Vivienne -- while his ex-wife wants sole custody. His relationship with his two older kids remain tense, however, and the father is reportedly still reaching out.
