Fans of the popular fighting video game "Tekken" are very excited with the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2015. On the said event, "Tekken 7" game director Katsuhiro Harada will be announcing important details about the anticipated game.
There were speculations that the announcement has to do with guest characters to be added in the roster. According to Attack of the Fanboy, one fan asked Harada over Twitter about the possibility of adding guest characters in the game. "RT @Loves2smasH there any chance they'll be some guest characters or console exclusive fighters in TK7?," the fan wrote. Harada responded with "It's "if". Tell me your idea hehe"
Although, Harada's reply does not suggest that there will be guest characters in the game, it implies that he is open to the idea, which gives hope and delight to fans who have a list of potential guest characters that could be added into the game. According to Yibada, the game director has to discuss this with the Bandai Namco developers.
The report suggests that adding guest characters is not really new to fighting games. In fact, "SoulCalibur IV" added Yoda and Dart Vader, while "Mortal Kombat X" included Jason Voorhees and Predator in their roster, with possibly more characters coming in 2016.
However, the practice hasn't been applied to the "Tekken" series yet. Bandai Namco has never added any guest characters in the "Tekken" game series. So, if they do so in their next installment it will be a big treat to the gamers.
According to Realty Today, based on the history of the franchise, a new character by the name of Catalina was revealed at the same event last year. Thus, there's a big possibility that a similar case will happen this year.
On the other hand, the developers are currently conducting several arcade test in the United States in every "Round One" and "Dave & Buster's" venue. The Japanese game publisher have been busy collecting data and feedbacks from its gamers to improve the gameplay for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, Yibada has learned.
Harada confirmed that Bandai Namco will showcase "Tekken 7" in the PS4 and Xbox consoles at the Tokyo Game Show event on Sept. 17-20. Several gamers were anticipating that the development team will take the event as an opportunity to announce the official release date of the game.
"Tekken 7" roster includes Jin, Heihachi, Kazuya, Asuka, Lili, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Paul Phonex and Devil Jin to name a few. Other veteran characters are expected to be added in the roster like the archrival sisters Anna and Nina Williams, Armor King, Bob, Lee, Baek and Jun Kazama, who was featured in "Tekken Tag Tournament 2."
