There are lots of single moms out there struggling to balance between career and their kids. Hence, they often wonder if they are doing everything right -- considering the fact that no one will be there to take half of the responsibility.
Nevertheless, many single moms all over the world successfully raised their kids by themselves. And to help you raise your children joyfully, the team listed down all these practical tips from the single mothers themselves.
Find a work schedule that will suit you.
According to Christine Coppa, author, blogger and a single parent, single moms can ask their employers if they can work on a convenient shift. She said single parents shouldn't be afraid to express their needs as most bosses want to work with their employees and not against them.
Take a deep breath and count 1 to 10.
Raising children all alone is definitely difficult. It's like an ocean voyage -- full of waves and raging storms that can easily lose your cool. Nevertheless, moms shouldn't scream on their kids. Coppa suggested if you're starting to lose your temper, just walk away, take a deep breath, then count to ten. She said doing this method can help you relax.
Take care of yourself.
Rachel Sarah, author of the book and blog "Single Mom Seeking" said single moms should always see to it that they are paying attention to their basic needs. Those include getting enough sleep, eating the right food and doing some exercise.
Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Lori Place, blogger of sheknows said neighbors are the closest thing that a family can have. Hence, you should not be afraid to ask your neighbor for help if you need to run some errands. "My kids listen better to others and having someone with their best interests at heart can really make a difference," she added.
Surely, you will get confused and frustrated at times with your kids. But that doesn't mean you can give up and compare your situation to other families. Instead, just look at your lovely children and always think you're lucky enough to have them.
