'Supergirl' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers & News: Here's What Ex-Superman Actors Brandon Routh And Dean Cain Think Of Tyler Hoechlin

"Supergirl" Season 2 is set to begin filming for its run on The CW. With the anticipated appearance of the new Superman in the series, a couple of actors who have played the iconic role gave a few advice for Tyler Hoechlin. A cast member also shared some details on the first episode of "Supergirl."

"Supergirl" Season 2: Former Supermen Wish New Superman Well

Brandon Routh, who played Superman/Clark Kent in the movie "Superman Returns" in 2006, reveals he'd like to become a part of "Supergirl." As The CW is planning on a potential crossover with the show and "Legends of Tomorrow," Brandon Routh hopes he'll get to meet Tyler Hoechlin soon. He would also like his "Legends" character, The Atom, to work with Hoechlin's Superman in the crossover.

Having moved on from assuming the role of Superman in the movies, Brandon Routh said that becoming the iconic character had a "tremendously positive effect" on him. Thus, he wishes Tyler Hoechlin the best in playing the new Superman for television, via a Reddit AMA with fans.

Meanwhile, another Superman actor on the "Supergirl" cast shared his thoughts on Tyler Hoechlin as well. Dean Cain was Superman for the small screen in the 90s series "Lois & Clark." Now, he plays the role of Jeremiah Danvers, Kara/Supergirl's adoptive father in "Supergirl."

Dean Cain believes that it's a great thing to have different actors playing Superman all the time. His advice for Tyler Hoechlin is a bit amusing as he said the actor should wax his chest. "You can't have any hair peeking out over that 'S' there," he joked, per Access Hollywood.

"Supergirl" Season 2: Episode 1 Title And Other Details

Entertainment Weekly reports that Dean Cain's Jeremiah Danvers will figure a lot into "Supergirl" Season 2, after the Danvers sisters learned he's still alive in the last season. However, it sounds like his character's presence is more bad news than good news. "You should question everything," said "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

Meanwhile, David Harewood, who plays Hank Henshaw/J'onn J'onzz on "Supergirl," has shown the first episode's title in a post on Instagram. The actor shared the front page of the first script, which stated that "Supergirl" Season 2 Episode 1 will be called "The Adventures of Supergirl."
