'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers: Crossover Confirmed? Calista Flockhart Dropped? CW Exec Dishes Real Score

With "Supergirl" Season 2's big move to The CW, the show is also changing filming locations from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Cast members will have to make adjustments on their schedules and living arrangements once production begins, but this could pose a problem for Calista Flockhart. Will the shift affect her character, Cat Grant, in the next season?

Earlier reports suggest that Calista Flockhart might no longer be in "Supergirl" Season 2, or her role might be reduced to a semi-regular capacity. The actress is said to be unwilling to uproot her life in Los Angeles to work in Vancouver with good reasons.

The CW president, Mark Pedowitz, stated during the upfronts that they are still negotiating with the seasoned television star, who plays the media mogul in the series and is Supergirl/Kara Danvers' ally. Comic Book reports that her character is likely to only appear in certain episodes as opposed to her participation in the first season, where Calista Flockhart was featured in all of the episodes.

TV Line confirms that Calista Flockhart still definitely wants to be part of "Supergirl" Season 2, so the show is not going to lose her. However, her character might not be in at least two or three episodes for the entire season, as they have to work out her filming schedules. "We're happy to have her in whatever capacity is worked out," Pedowitz told the press.

Cinema Blend reports that Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant is one of the major reasons why "Supergirl" has clicked. Thus, it makes sense for the network to want to keep her in the roster at whatever cost.

Meanwhile, The CW also confirms that a "Supergirl" Season 2 crossover is happening in December. This will be the biggest four-way crossover that has never happened in any other network. Three other shows are involved: "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," per Entertainment Weekly.
