The Playstation classic "Crash Bandicoot" will have it's own remastered version for the Playstation 4, as 3 instalments of the hit platformer is set to be released in line with the game's 20th year anniversary. Activision made the announcement at the 2016 E3, along with a short teaser.
The world's beloved mutated bandicoot is set for a makeover as "Crash Bandicoot," "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back," and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped" will have remastered versions set for the Playstation 4, with revamped graphics and upgraded gameplay, while sticking true to the original's platform roots.
This certainly brings back plenty of nostalgia for "Crash Bandicoot" fans, as the gameplay teaser looks and feels like the "Crash Bandicoot" that gamers came to love, but with a much more visually appealing look. From TNT crates, to wumba fruits, and Crash's signature spin, the new remastered versions will definitely give fans their childhood memories back.
Naughty Dog, the team behind acclaimed video games such as "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us" were the original developers of the "Crash Bandicoot" series, but will now hand over the reins to Vicarious Visions, who will be responsible for bringing the adventurous bandicoot back to life.
According to Daily Star, Crash Bandicoot himself will be available for play in the new "Skylanders" game, the "toy-to-life" series where players can use their favourite toys in the game by placing tiny figurines of them on the "Portal of Power" that brings the characters to life. Bandicoot will be a playable character in the latest release of "Skylanders", called "Skylanders: Imaginators"
According to Game Rant, there is still no news for a brand new "Crash Bandicoot" game, but the 3 remastered games could be the first step. While older gamers are certainly looking forward to the remaster's release, gamers of the younger generation will have the opportunity to fall in love with the wacky bandicoot themselves.
There is still currently no release date for the remastered "Crash Bandicoot" games but rumours say that they might be available some time in 2017. The new "Crash Bandicoot" will be made exclusive for the Playstation 4.
