According to the ESPN, Paul Pierce confirms that he wants to retire with the Boston Celtics after this season, Paul Pierce stated during an interview with the SiriusXM NBA Radio. Pierce cited that he made most of his achievements during his stint with the Celtics, glory days and his prime days as he specified.
There is a previous report that Clippers coach Doc Rivers visited the Boston Celtics and talked to GM Danny Ainge. Rivers asked Danny Ainge to sign Paul Pierce to at least a one-day contract to have a formal retirement with the Boston Celtics. Doc Rivers also said that before Paul Pierce decided to return and play this NBA season, he came up with an idea of retiring.
