The award-winning actress, Charlize Theron, is a mother for the second time. The single parent, who already has an adopted son, Jackson, from South Africa, has adopted yet another African-American baby girl.

Charlize, 39, was reportedly granted custody of her new baby, who was born in the United States, only last July, according to TMZ. She named her August.

Working with an adoption agency in the United States, the whole process took six months to complete, and it was reported that the actress' wishes to have a baby girl this time, the news outlet further revealed.

Long before first adopting Jackson in 2012, Charlize has always expressed her desire to become a mother. I've always known I wanted a family. I don't think my mom could wait any more!" she told Vogue UK.

But even as a child, she had always known adopting was in her future. "My mother found a letter that I wrote when I was 8 years old that said, 'Would you please take me to an orphanage, so that I can go and adopt a baby?'" the actress told Access Hollywood back in 2012.

So when the right time came and she was ready to adopt, the actress made the choice and did not regret it one bit. "I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me. It's given me perspective," she told W Magazine in April.

The news of her second adoption comes after her much-publicized split with actor-boyfriend Sean Penn, 54. The pair went public with their relationship in 2013, but last month, Charlize stopped all communication with Sean. "Charlize wasn't responding to his calls and texts," revealed an insider to Us Weekly. "She just cut it off."

Charlize and Sean had been planning on getting married, according to another report from Us Weekly. They were even set on adopting a child together so that Jackson would have a little brother or sister. But it wasn't meant to be.

Hollywood Life reported that Charlize struggled in her relationship with Sean. "Charlize was seeing that it was just too intense for her and she needed a breather," a source told the news outlet. "She still loves him and respects him to the fullest but she just needed to get out of his intense atmosphere. She is still very young at heart and he plays things by the book."
