'Dark Souls 3' Release Date Confirmed, New Title Available in Americas April 2016; PS4 Stress Test Set For Next Month [Details]

Fans of the "Souls" series are pretty excited with its upcoming fourth entry "Darks Souls 3." Anyone who has been reading reports about the anticipated game knows that it will be available next year. But, when exactly next year?

Bandai Namco, publisher of the game, had just announced that the highly-anticipated role-playing game developed by the popular Japanese developer FromSoftware will be released throughout North America and South America in April 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam, ComingSoon.net reports.

Meanwhile, stress test is set next month, according to GamesRadar. Bandai Namco has announced that the game will have its own network test. FromSoftware will do so to test out game balance, assess the state of multiplayer games and test server load just as how they did with "Bloodborne," VG 24/7 has learned.

For those who are interested to participate in the stress test, registration starts today at 5 p.m. CEST, you may register here. The stress test is only available for PlayStation 4 and registration is open until Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. CEST.

Namco will select participants randomly and slots are limited. Below are the scheduled test sessions:

•  Friday, Oct. 16 at 8:00pm to 11:00pm CEST
•  Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:00pm to 11:00pm CEST
•  Sunday, Oct. 18 at 8:00pm to 11:00pm CEST

According to ComingSoon.net "Darks Souls 3" will provide gamers with a brand new world filled with heinous crimes, hidden and dark secrets, and enchanting environment as one ventured to destroy the awakened Lords of Cinder and discover what brought the land to its apocalyptic state.

The game will also enforce a deeper sense of role-playing than its previous iterations in the series with significant additions that equips players with a set of tools and in-game options to customize their gameplay experience according to their whims.

Among the additions in the gameplay's combat mechanics is skills which add attack modifiers to each weapon type, allowing players with an increased tactical advantage during the combat. One can increase an axe's attack power with War Cry or by breaking the opponent's guard with a quick upward swing from Ready Stance.

This feature requires knowledge of the game and strategy because it depends on the players when he or she will use the added abilities. Moreover, gamers can also equip their character with a wide array of armor sets, medieval weaponry and even with powerful sorceries and miracles as they learn and develop their style of play.
