The pandemic has indeed changed the perspectives of people all over the world. It gave most of us the time to reflect on what has been happening around us.

For families, parents are starting to see the realities that were once invisible to them. Parents see their jobs, marriages, families, and other relationships differently. Specifically, fathers all over the United States have learned hard truths during the lockdown.

Here are some of the realizations of fathers:

"I'm lazy."

A 37-year-old father from Pennsylvania says that he realized he does not lack time, he realized that he is lazy. Before the lockdown, he keeps on putting off tasks and hobbies like cleaning the garage, writing a book, and organizing the basement. Although he technically had time during the nine weeks he has been staying at home, he still was not able to do all of these. Because of this, he came to realize that he is lazy and lacks discipline. Although he has already admitted this, he is now planning to fix it.

"I'm lying to my kids."

A father from North Carolina has been promising his kids something during the past days. When his kids ask about the future, he keeps on telling them that things will be fine and will be back to normal after the pandemic.

What this father realized is that he is answering questions when he, himself, has no clue. Although he understands that what he is doing is giving his children hope and keeping things positive, he is also reminded that he is lying to his kids.

"I'm obsolete."

The pandemic also made us realize that some things were once so important but are now useless. A 40-year-old father from Indiana felt this way after being laid off when the pandemic started. He is a travel agent. Due to the pandemic, he felt that his job is going to be completely antiquated in the future. Because of this, he is now starting to think of changing careers. This state has also brought him to so much worry and uncertainty, especially because he is thinking of what would be the effect of this to his family.

"My anxiety is worse than I thought."

Before the pandemic, everyone is busy pursuing different things, like the 35-year-old father from South Carolina, who has always been occupied with his job and going out with friends. Due to the lockdown, he has started to overthink about the worst. During this pandemic, he's had panic attacks, making him realize that his anxiety is getting worse.

"My kids are brats."

Parents usually spend their time working and only get to see their children during breakfast and dinners. Kids spend most of their time away from home. The lockdown has become the total opposite of this, and a 40-year-old father from California did not see shock coming his way. He was appalled when he realized that his kids are mean to each other and that they also tend to be rude to other people. Because of this, he is now starting to question his parenting style for the past eight years.
