Dad from California Makes Ice Cream to Keep His Family and Community Happy

A dad from California, Ryan Rucker, never thought that his love for ice cream would bring him to discover his passion.

This dad is one of the commissioners of Vacaville Parks and Recreation, but alongside that, he is the man behind the ice cream that his family and community keep enjoying.

Rucker has two daughters, and he believes that ice cream is not just a simple treat. He says, "Ice cream is just so fun. It just brings people together."

The beginning of the ice cream journey

"Be Ice Cream Or Be Nothing" started while Ryan was trying to pursue a music career. That was after college, and he was helping his grandparents move. During that time, he spent every night eating ice cream. He recalled, "I was just on an ice cream kick."

When he returned home, he thought of trying to make his ice cream. Besides, there were very few ice cream spots in Vacaville.

The first flavor that he tried to make was cookie butter concoction. Although it was not perfect, the dad from California said, "It was icy, but the taste was good. I thought I can do this."

His wife, Allie, encouraged him to pursue making ice cream. She even suggested that he buys an ice cream maker.

Slowly, the dad from California was making ice cream enough for their friends and fellow church members.

Ryan continued experimenting with the flavors; he had coffee, maple bacon, and many other flavors.

It was the coffee flavor that first got sold in the market.

The dad's reason for making ice cream

The dad from California has two reasons in mind as to why he pursued making and selling ice cream. Both of these reasons involve family.

The first was because he wanted to have fun with his daughter, Raegan.

On their Facebook page, the father and daughter are always seen enjoying making ice cream or other fun activities.

Meanwhile, Ryan and Allie are recently blessed with another daughter. This younger daughter is now becoming part of the fun activities that the family does together.

Ryan's second reason is for other families. He said that he wanted to encourage other dads to be involved.

He says that everything he does makes sure he incorporates his family; that is his main focus right now.

Aside from making ice cream

Indeed, Ryan is passionate about ice cream. On their Facebook page, he shares videos and photos of him and his family eating or making ice cream.

Also, the "Ice Cream Family" plans to make a book about ice cream for kids. They would also like to have more community involvement and outreach programs.

That is on top of the other involvements Ryan has with different organizations.
