young boy from San Antonio, Texas, is mourning for the loss of both his mom and dad to COVID-19. The four-year-old boy, Raiden Gonzales, is dealing with two significant losses only months apart.

The young boy lost both his mom and dad 100 days apart. He is now under the care of relatives, who are asking for help. They would like to involve the community to lift the spirits of the young boy.

The dad's battle against coronavirus

In June, the young boy's father tested positive of the coronavirus. According to his family, he was exposed while at work, and less than a week after being confirmed of contracting the virus, he was confined at the hospital.

According to Raiden's grandmother in an interview with News 4, "They did say he was one of the two sickest in the hospital."

After almost a month, on June 26, the young boy's father, Adan Gonzales, passed away.

The mom's struggles against COVID-19

The family was still mourning over the death of the young boy's dad. However, on October 5, Mariah Gonzales, Raiden's mother was rushed to the hospital through an ambulance.

The following day, on October 6, Tuesday, the four-year-old boy's mom also passed away.

The young boy's losses

According to one of Raiden's relatives, the four-year-old boy keeps on talking about his parents. One relative shared that Raiden once said he wanted to be like his father. 

Also, his loss of his mom has been affecting the young boy much, "A couple of days ago, he said he wishes he could bring her back."

The little boy's birthday

On November 22, Raiden is about to celebrate his birthday. His relatives would like to do something for the young boy to lift his spirits. They shared that Raiden has been upset that on his upcoming birthday, his parents will not be there.

However, his relatives are doing their best to ensure that his spirits will remain high. The family is planning a drive-thru roar and wave parade. Raiden loves firetrucks, and they are hoping he would enjoy seeing some on his birthday.

GoFundMe page has also been put up for people who would like to donate. As of writing the page has already raised 23,000 US dollars. The campaign aims to reach 25,000 US Dollars for Raiden.
