An Idaho Secret Santa surprises a 65-year-old with a new SUV to replace her worn-out van. The elderly uses the old van to deliver 150 newspapers every morning before she starts her shift at a fastfood restaurant.

According to "East Idaho News," Diana Boldman supports her husband, Cameron, by working full-time. While she plans to retire after a few years, she works hard to earn so she could help her husband with disability.

Secret Santa has heard her story of hard work

A local Secret Santa has heard Boldman's story of hard work and perseverance and decided to surprise her. The anonymous Santa has been sending Christmas gifts for the Idaho residents over the last six years.

An "East Idaho News" reporter, Nate Eaton, has helped Secret Santa deliver gifts. A month ago, he showed up at the McDonald's where Boldman was working and surprised her with an SUV. The outlet's website shared the video showing the surprise Secret Santa has for Boldman.

Received gift cards and brand-new SUV

In the clip, you could see Boldman receiving a green box, and inside it were a $1,000 check and $5,000 worth of gas cards. The 65-year-old was delighted upon receiving the gifts, little did she know that there was more.

Eaton gave Boldman the keys so she could drive her brand-new car. The duo walked outside so Eaton could show Boldman her new Hyundai Tucson. She could now replace her van, which has run over 200,000 miles.

She was delighted with what she has received from the surprise

Boldman told the outlet that her car keys are smarter than her as she tried to unlock the doors. She familiarized herself on how to operate her new car after sitting inside. She was very grateful for Secret Santa for gifting her with a new mode of transportation. She said in the clip to tell Secret Santa that she is very thankful.

Community nominates the recipients

According to "TODAY," Eaton said that in 2019, Secret Santa had already given out $500,000 worth of gifts. This year, the anonymous Santa plans to give out more. People in the community are the ones who nominate the recipients of the gifts.

Eaton said that the chosen ones are those that are humble and who never ask for help. He said that the recipients are usually not asking for assistance or handouts.

Secret Santa has already helped many people

"PEOPLE" reported previously that in 2017, the Secret Santa gave out $10,000 to the family who have four children with ALS. The rare disease ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, is an incurable progressive neurodegenerative disease. The disease affects the spinal cord and the nerve cells found in the brain. The Secret Santa also gifted residents in Idaho Falls holiday gifts amounting to $200,000 that same year.
