[Watch!] Viral Tiktok Video: Boy Wakes Up at 3AM for Baby Brother

From age 12 months, babies should start sleeping through the night. But, factors like teething, growth spurts, and behavioral changes may cause babies waking up at night. Otherwise, babies wake up at night to start a viral Tiktok video. Such is what happened recently when an Ohio mom shared a heartwarming video of her baby waking up in the middle of the night.


Parents Witness Touching Moment on Baby Monitor

It was a bit past 3am when the sound of the baby crying woke up mom. Gloria McIntosh shared how she first checked the baby monitor to see if the baby would fall back asleep on his own. "

Ideally, give your baby a few minutes to see if she settles back on her own, Parents revealed. "Or else your baby will remember putting up a fuss last night and Mommy let her play till she fell asleep," child psychologist Dr. Heather Wittenburg said.

Shortly after her 18-month-old Greyson cried, McIntosh's 10-year-old son Mason was seen in the baby monitor entering the baby's room. He comforted his crying brother and gently picked him up. When the baby tried to go out, the child went after him to keep the toddler in the room.

Son Stepped in with Baby Duties so Mom Could Rest

The fourth grader stayed with his brother for nearly 30 minutes. When his mom saw that the baby was not going back to sleep, that was when she decided to step in.

When asked why he did not call his mom when he heard the baby cry, 10-year-old Mason responded, "I wanted you to get some rest. You did a lot today."

The mother-of-six shared how she felt "much appreciated" by her son on that day. She added how she would always tell her children that the true test of character is shown in what a person does when no one is watching, Today reported.

A Note to Naysayers

Some may criticize the mother for letting her child take over parental duties in the wee hours. But, McIntosh goes ahead of them saying she knows that it is not her son's duty to parent his little brother. Yet, she remains grateful that her son understood he was his brother's keeper.

"I smiled the whole time," revealed the 36-year-old mom who watched the sweet scene on the baby monitor from her bedroom. She focused on her older son's love for his little brother which she describes as "an unspeakable love, I can't even explain."

Finally, the footage ends with Mason climbing into the crib with his baby brother Greyson. His mother appreciated his patience as Mason entertained his brother with toys, wiped his nose, and even read him a story.

Parents in the comments section responded with much love. Some saying they too cried while watching the heartwarming scene. Others also commended the child saying, "He will be a loving father someday."
