Here are some winter activities your kids can do

Have your kids enjoy arts in winter activities at home

  • Make them paint using only the easy snow painting technique
  • Make them paint snowman using glue resistant
  • Let them try microwaving puffy snowman and flakes
  • Of course, don't forget glass bunting and have your kids put message and design on it.

Let them feel the adventure of skiing

It has always been one of the family favorites during the winter months, downhill and cross-country skiing winter activities. Some kids start skiing as early as 2 or 3 years old, but when kids are more coordinated and less scared of falling, the best age is probably around 5. Young downhill skiers can reach the bunny slopes or green circle trails, but they should have an adult with them. Ski lessons can help you learn the ropes from your child.

Help them create a unique snow castle

To let your children enjoy more these winter activities. Why not have a contest to see in creating the best snow castle amongst your children, who is a fixed time frame you provided them can build the most ornate castle, or make it a family project and engineer a fortress larger than life will win your designed contest.

Dwight Zahringer, a dad of three in Detroit, uses the same type of activity. He suggested using the same molds for making sandcastles on the beach, or any of the gardening products like trowels, spades, buckets, and planters, to dig and shape the snow in whatever design your child wishes to have.

Try art activities with snow and ice

Or you can have your kids blend the outdoors with art & play. Take out art projects for those extraordinary things you couldn't do any more within the year. Some activities using snow and ice may include building colored ice sculptures, painting the snow with bottles or brush, or even make the snow paint glow in the dark.

Expose them to treasure hunts

"Give kids a nature-based list of what to look for, like pinecones, berries, acorns, bird feathers, or whatever they might find in your yard," Laura Froyen, Ph.D., a mother of two, said. Laura is also the host of The Balanced Parent podcast. To have your kids enjoy it that much, try giving it a theme, hide toys, or candies outside for kids to find.

Introduce them to snowboarding

Your little ones can start snowboarding and strap on board as early as five years old. Snowboarding is the most common in all winter activities because of your kids' strength and independence. Lessons and safety gear, such as helmets, knee pads, wrist guards, and hip pads, are always necessary because they have different snowboards for every participant.
