Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie has opened up about parenting six "very individual" children who are in different stages of their life, and she admits that she is a "very human" parent to Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 13.

In an interview for People's 2021 Kindness Issue, the single mom said that her kids are "pretty great people" who have such a "significant effect on each other" as siblings. Jolie said she's also growing with her children as she is not the type of mom who heads and leads their lives.

With their varied ages, the mother said that she's more excited and curious about her kids' journey into finding "different aspects of who they are" as a person. She believes that her work as a parent is to help her children figure out who they want to become.

Jolie confessed that parenting six kids makes her more aware of the things she is not doing right, but she is grateful for the kindness and love of her children, who have helped her heal as a person.

Jolie's Kids Join Her in Red Carpet Events

In recent weeks, Jolie and her kids have been quite visible on the red carpet because of the world premieres of her new movie, "Eternals," under the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So far, the kids joined their mother in Los Angeles, Italy, and the U.K. and delighted fans when they showed up wearing Jolie's old red carpet clothes.

At the U.K. premiere of "Eternals," Shiloh, Jolie's biological first-born with ex-husband Brad Pitt, stepped out wearing her mother's maxi dress, which Jolie originally wore during a press conference for "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" in 2019. Shiloh did a youthful and updated spin on the dress by having the hemlines shortened. She also paired the dress with black ballet flats and silver hoop earrings.

A few weeks back, Zahara also wore her mother's 2014 Oscars gown for the Los Angeles premiere of the superhero movie. Jolie acknowledged that her children plan on wearing some of her vintage stuff to Hollywood events.

The actress told Entertainment Tonight that her kids have grown comfortable at these public events. However, she stressed that these red carpet events are just a tiny part of their lives, so they make it fun as a family.

Angelina Jolie Custody Case Update

Meanwhile, the California Supreme Court has denied Pitt's request to review the petition to unblock Judge John Ouderkirk in overseeing the custody battle with Jolie. In July, Jolie asked the court to remove Ouderkirk as their private judge because of his business dealings with her ex-husband. It comes two months after Ouderkirk granted Jolie and Pitt joint custody of their minor kids. Incidentally, it was also Ouderkirk who bonded the couple in marriage in 2014.

The actress's lawyer, Robert Olson, said that Jolie had welcomed the Supreme Court's decision, which will allow her and her kids to move forward. On the other hand, Pitt's lawyers said that they will still do "everything that's legally necessary" for their client.

Jolie and Pitt officially divorced in 2019 after their separation in 2016. However, the ex-couple continue to battle in court because of their children and properties.
