Steve Harvey had a special guest at his home during Thanksgiving as his stepdaughter, Lori Harvey, invited her boyfriend, "Black Panther" star Michael B. Jordan, to be with her family for the very first time during the holidays.

"The Family Feud" host said he was trying to find some fault in Jordan, whom Lori had been dating for a year when they met, because he is admittedly very protective of his stepdaughter. However, Steve said that Jordan has his approval because he cannot find anything wrong with the actor.

Speaking with Ellen DeGeneres on her show, Steve said that Jordan is "one of the nicest guys." He has also met the actor's father, and they have had long hours of talk together.

A Stepdad's Skepticisms

Steve admitted that when he first learned that Lori was dating a Marvel superstar, his initial impression was that Jordan, dubbed the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People Magazine in 2020, was just playing with his stepdaughter. The stepfather said he was very concerned for Lori because he knows how Hollywood relationships end up. His daughter also had relationships with other celebrities and celebrity kids, but they only broke her heart.

However, the actor has won over his girlfriend's dad easily. The father said that Jordan and his daughter have been managing their relationship well despite the chaos in Hollywood. Steve also noted that he was initially thrown off after realizing that Jordan is a nice fellow.

"You know, I figure, 'OK, this is the game right,'" Steve told Entertainment Tonight. "But it wasn't, man, this dude was sincere," the concerned dad said. "He's proven to be a really, really good, good guy," adding that he's pulling for the pair to end up together forever.

Steve adopted Lori after his marriage to her mother, Marjorie, in 2007. They are a blended family since Steve has four children from his previous marriage, while Marjorie has three, including Lori.

In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Marjorie said that there were challenges to raising kids within a blended family because they have come from broken marriages. However, Steve and his wife have always reminded their kids that each of them has access to both their mother and father all the time.

Extremely Grateful for Family

Meanwhile, following Thanksgiving, Lori has been posting photos of their family holiday with her beau. She shared on her Instagram that she's extremely thankful for this special time. Even Steve's brothers, Wynton and Broderick, and their families were also present and met Jordan as well.

It comes as Lori and Jordan celebrated their first anniversary just days before Thanksgiving. The model said that this is truly different from her previous high-profile relationships because she and Jordan tried to keep most things off the public eye.

Meanwhile, Steve told People in September that it's the first time he has seen his daughter "truly happy" in a romantic relationship. He appreciates that Jordan treats Lori the way the father treats "his princess."
