A dad has sparked a debate among netizens after sharing that he's quite proud that his daughter slapped the mean girl who has been bullying her.

The father took to Facebook to air his sentiments about his daughter's encounters with the bully. He shared that while he doesn't condone violence in kids, he conceded that this incident warranted a harsh response for Regina, the bullying instigator.

According to Daily Record, the parent further shared that his daughter has been complaining about Regina for some time. The bully would often tell his daughter not to come to school anymore because no one wanted her there. Regina also told his daughter to "just die already" and constantly behaved obnoxiously towards her and the other classmates.

His daughter has apparently been harassed again recently, and she responded by slapping Regina on the face. The dad said his daughter is now in trouble with the school, but he can't help but feel so good and so proud of her.

Retaliation Not the Answer?

The father's post was shared on Reddit, where some parents felt that it was wrong for the parent to encourage retaliation. Another commenter said that responsible adults would not encourage their kids this way. Instead, they will remind their children to find a responsible adult and report the bullying instead of assaulting a classmate.

However, as much as there were some parents who disagreed with the violence, the other commenters said that they agreed with the dad's post.

"I'd have them punch the other kid in the throat," a Redditor said. The school won't act on their complaints. Some commenters said they would even bring the daughter for an ice cream treat even if she was suspended from school.

The other parents also think that the bullied kids have the right to stand up for themselves. What his daughter did will likely keep the bully in line because bullies only understand one language. Another commenter said that bullying is also a form of violence, and if the school hasn't taken any action, despite the parents' attempts to pacify the situation, the victim's actions to defend herself seem justified.

Dad Intervenes with Violence

Meanwhile, a father in Texas has landed in jail for threatening and assaulting his daughter's bullies with a knife. Thomas Brown was arrested on January 27 after confronting some high school girls who were coming after his daughter. He allegedly placed a pocket knife on the neck of one of the girls and said he would slit their throat if they ever touched his daughter again.

According to KKTV, Brown has been in touch with the school principal about the bullying incident, but he rushed to the school that day because he got a frantic call from his daughter. The cops said that the father freely spoke about what he did and even demonstrated these to the police. He also said he knew he was going to jail for the assault. His bail has been set at $10,000.
