Actress Stephanie Beatriz had the most unforgettable experience working on the Disney hit, "Encanto." Pregnant with her first baby, Beatriz had labor contractions in the middle of recording a song.

In an interview with Variety, Beatriz revealed, for the first time, that she felt her labor contractions while working on the movie's song "Waiting on a Miracle." She didn't utter a word or tell Disney's people about her situation because she "didn't want anyone to freak out."

Ever the professional, the actress said that the "Encanto" cast had a scheduled recording that day, which meant that she was close to her delivery date but wasn't expecting it would be almost time. The movie's director and producers were only aware that her due date would be sometime in August 2021 while they were completing the animated film.

"I was like, 'Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!'" Beatriz said.

In an interview with People, the mom revealed that Rosaline loves listening to the "Encanto" soundtrack and rightfully so because she heard the songs first before most people. The baby was in her mom's belly when Beatriz did most of the recordings.

However, Rosaline is still too young to appreciate and sit still to watch the movie. Beatriz and her husband are looking forward to the day.

Before having her baby, Beatriz said that she didn't see herself having children as an openly bisexual individual. However, after building a life with her husband, the actress became committed to raising kids.

Who was Stephanie Beatriz in "Encanto"?

Beatriz provided the speaking and singing voice of Mirabel Madrigal, the 15-year-old protagonist of the movie. "Encanto" is the first Latinx-centric Disney animated film, released in November 2021.

"Encanto" has earned three Oscar nominations for Best Animated Feature, Best Original Song, and Best Original Score. According to The List, the mom was changing Rosaline's diaper when she found out about the nominations.

The actress said that even if "Encanto" doesn't win any awards, she will still be very proud of this project because it resonates with many families. She has enjoyed seeing parents sharing viral videos of themselves or their kids as they sing the songs or wear the characters' costumes. She has also loved watching children in their "Encanto" outfits in the park.

Beatriz said that the legacy of "Encanto" will impact many generations to come. However, it would be a wonderful bonus for the people who worked on the film, on the technical and creative side, to get their due recognition from award-giving bodies.
