After a 21-year-old woman and her friends were seen twerking at an apartment pool, her mother soon received an eviction notice due to their "extremely unacceptable behaviors."

Charlotte mom Marshette Foster said that the management of Element SouthPark in Charlotte, North Carolina, handed their eviction notice after someone from their apartment community complained about her daughter, Alanah Foster.

The young woman and her friends were having a small get-together Saturday, April 30, when the apartment concierge approached and asked them to stop twerking at the apartment pool. According to Yahoo! News, Alanah apologized to the concierge. However, her friends took issue with the concierge after implying that Alanah brought too many guests to the community pool.

Marshette believes that her daughter and friends were discriminated against because other apartment dwellers are not Black but who also bring four or five friends to the pool but were never accosted by the concierge.

However, the Element SouthPark management insisted that the Foster family eviction stemmed from several complaints from their neighbors. The management also said that one of Alanah's friends displayed unruly behavior by cursing and challenging the concierge to a fight. The eviction notice didn't state anything about twerking at the apartment pool.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Element SouthPark has videos to back up their accusations and an "extensive list of witnesses." The management defended that they are a "diverse community" that accepts residents from all backgrounds.

Marshette noted that the accusations paint her daughter and friends as "unkempt, uncouth" when they have been constantly harassed since they arrived in July 2021. One incident involved Alanah getting punched by a white female who was allegedly intoxicated. She accused Alanah of holding up the cars in the parking area.

At various times when her daughter used the pool, the concierge usually comes to "check in" on them. At one time, Alanah was also accused of having sex in public, but there were security videos to prove this was not the case. The management apologized for this incident.

The mother is fighting the eviction notice in court and was advised by her lawyer not to pack up and leave until the court decided. Marshette is a senior manager at a health insurance company and pays $2,600 a month for their apartment in a well-kept neighborhood. Her lease to the apartment is due for renewal in August.
