Claire Clarke, who hails from Wales in the United Kingdom, is suffering from kidney failure and has been trying to find a donor for a life-saving transplant. But due to the severity of the 47-year-old's illness, loved ones said she had been repeatedly taken off the kidney transplant list.

Clarke was diagnosed with diabetes in her 20s and has been prone to complications, including infections that have led to sepsis, damaging her kidneys, according to The National.

The mother of three's health has deteriorated over the previous two years, and now Clarke is facing multiple liver and heart organ failures. While Clarke has previously been on the transplant waiting list, she has now been taken off due to her declining health, as those needing a kidney transplant need to be in good general health to undergo the critical surgery.

Sepsis damaged Clarke's kidneys

One person who knows Clarke's hardships is her sister, Joanne Davies. She said that her sister has quite a severe case of diabetes, with her eyesight going as a result of the illness. Davies added that her sister is prone to abscesses.

She, unfortunately, ended up with sepsis that damaged her kidneys. Davies said Clarke has been on the transplant list but, over the last two years, has spent more time off the list than on it due to her poor health.

She added that the longer this goes on, the more her sister is deteriorating. She said that the last thing they want is for it to be too late. Davies said as a family; they have got to do whatever they can for Clarke, who is a mother and grandmother already.

Clarke previously had a pancreas transplant that failed, and now, despite desperately needing a kidney from a donor, doctors have said they cannot proceed with the transplant as she has been deemed too ill.

Although people have offered to be live donors for the sick mom, the surgery cannot go ahead as Clarke has been removed from the kidney transplant list while in hospital, according to Newsweek.

Clarke needs to have a kidney transplant soon

Davies said she understands they say you have to be healthy, but in her sister's case, she is on dialysis because her kidneys are failing, and she is going into multiple organ failure; both her heart and kidneys are failing.

Davies added that they have had people come forward offering to be her sister's donor, but they can't do anything with that until she is back on the list. She added that it is not just trying to find a donor but fighting the red tape.

Davies made it clear she has the utmost respect for the National Health Service (NHS), saying they are just as annoyed at how the whole thing is put together. Davies said the problem is policy procedure, which is stuff out of their hands.
