Cops Investigate Possible Abduction of California Teen Girl Who Disappeared From Campground Party

Detectives in Northern California have launched an abduction investigation after a 16-year-old girl disappeared from a large party on Saturday, August 6, according to NBC News.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, Kiely Rodni was last seen attending a party of more than 100 juveniles and young adults near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. Also missing from the campground party was Rodni's vehicle, a silver 2013 Honda CRV.

Police said Rodni's phone has been out of service since the party. Angela Musallam, a public information officer with the sheriff's office, said that they are investigating Rodni's disappearance as an abduction because it hasn't been able to locate her CRV.

Detectives asking for help in finding Rodni

Detectives are asking for help in finding the missing teenager and have set up a tip line people can call if they have information. According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, Rodni is described as a Caucasian female, 5'7", 115 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Kiely was last seen wearing green Dickies pants, a black tank top, numerous jewelry and piercings, including a nose ring.

Rodni's mom, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, said in a video posted on the sheriff's office Facebook page that she just wants her teen daughter home. The worried mom said that they are so scared, and they miss her so much, and they love her so much. Rodni-Nieman said tearfully that they love Kiely so much. She asked her daughter to please just come home as she wants nothing more than to hug her.

Rodni-Nieman implored anyone with information regarding the vanishing of her daughter to come forward. She said they are not looking to, like, bust anybody else or get anybody in trouble. She added that they just want to see their daughter home.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the search for Rodni is active and are asking the community for help. Anyone with information about the teen girl's whereabouts is asked to call the tipline 530-581-6320, option 7.

The missing teen's family and friends have also set up a website, findkiely.com, and an email address, findkiely@gmail.com. Rodni's family also confirmed a $50,000 reward is now being offered for information that leads to her being found, according to KCRA.

Helicopter search ongoing for Kiely

The Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Monday afternoon that they are still searching for Kiely, including via helicopter. The sheriff's office said in a statement that their air operations crew will be flying over the Interstate 80 corridor between Donner Summit and the Nevada state line, and they will continue searching around the Prosser Lake area.

The office added that despite the numerous resources they have utilized, Kiely and her vehicle are still missing. They are currently coordinating with the California Highway Patrol, Truckee Police, FBI, and the Nevada County Sheriff's Office as they continue their search for Kiely, according to SFGate.
