After last year's blast of parenting trends, this year sees a new set of trends for parents, specially the millennial ones. With the rise of new ideas and increased access to the latest technologies raising children is taking a shift, from the traditional to the new, progressive, and positive ways.

According to NorthJersey, here are some parenting trends for couples this year:

1. The Third-Child-Style Parenting - this a style that encourages independence and is more relaxed.

2. The Professor Nanny - parents now want nannies with degrees and have a background on child psychology.

3. Enlightened Parenting - this style does not require parents to have a lengthy conversation with their children for acceptance. Enlightened parents show understanding and acceptance which conveys a lot stronger message than when talking about it.

4. Hybrid Names 2.0 - this style is about naming children and if they can't decide for one after a couple of times, parents combine their names. Not only that they combine names, they can now name their daughters after the mothers instead of just making the father's name feminine.

5. The Downsized Parent - this is a simplified lifestyle for parents and parents give up on trying to-do- it all tasks.

6. Two-Nanny Families - this style is about finding somebody to fill the gaps in the schedule for caring children. This means caregivers are now needed if parents can't cope with their schedules for their children.

7. The Paleo, Gluten-Free Vegan Pet - pets are now getting the same diet as kids but limited.
