Microsoft Surface Phone Release & Specs: Tech Giant Teases 'Breakthrough' Device; Is It A Potential iPhone Killer?

It is no secret that there is a tech war between major tech companies Microsoft and Apple. There have been numerous comparisons between the two companies especially during Microsoft's entrance in the smartphone market.

Apple can be considered as one of the toughest competitor to break due to their amazing marketing and smartphone lines. However, according to Microsoft, its newest phone might just be the one that could topple Apple from the number one pedestal.

Microsoft's SurfacePro tablets have been doing great in the market, but the smartphone area is very different from that of the tablet. There are higher specs and higher expectations for smartphone to outperform tablets made under the same brand and it has been a long rumor that a "Surface phone" by Microsoft is in the making.

It is reported as well that the Microsoft Surface phone has some amazing specs to watch out for. There have been numerous concept images released by websites that shows an image of what the Surface phone might look like. However, one concept that stood out is from designer DKIIRO, which boasts an edge-to-edge screen display.

Upon DKIIRO's release of the Surface's concept design are the imagined specs of the phone. According to the specs, Surface may boast a 21-megapixel rear camera with a triple-LED flash and 6 ways stabilization and for the front camera, it carries a 3D front-facing cam that supports Windows Hello.

The Surface may also be run by an Intel Atom x7 processor, an OLED display with Quad HD resolution and a 64 GB internal storage. For the battery life of Microsoft Surface phone it is rumored to be a 3100 mAh battery. The phone will also carry HTC's BoomSound Technology with a dual speaker on top of the handset. There will also be a USB Type-C port.

As of now, it is still yet to be confirmed whether Microsoft is really pushing forward with the Surface phone.
