John Legend Is Excited To Become A Father With Wife Chrissy Teigen

Singer-songwriter John Legend has another reason to be excited as he takes on the role of being a dad. Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen are expecting a baby girl this year.

The couple was seen walking the red carpet on Feb. 5, Friday at the 47th NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California. The soulful singer received the distinguished President's Award.

Legend said how ecstatic he is to be a father. "I love my wife so much and I love the idea that we created something that is a reflection of both of us and love," Legend said in an exclusive interview with People.

Despite being excited, the couple has remained quiet about when their impending bundle of joy is due. In October 2015, Legend and Teigen announced that there were expecting their first child.

Legend revealed that they have already begun discussing what they wanted to name their little one. "Some of ours are more traditional; some of ours are more different. We don't know what we're going to do yet. We just keep playing around with them, seeing which ones feel the best and which ones we like two weeks later," Legend said as reported by Today.

The singer went on to explain that the key to a couple's success in marriage is love, respect, treating them well and not being selfish. "Be considerate, be a good listener, communicate. We're still learning, too. We're always going to be learning, but so far, so good," said Legend.

The Grammy-winner is currently working on his next studio album, which is set to be released this year. The Academy-award winner and songwriter also revealed that his impending fatherhood has already given him musical inspiration.

"I've already been a bit inspired by us being pregnant and the idea of being a first-time father, so I definitely started some ideas based on that," according to Legend. He also explains that he is anticipating what he will feel and his baby is born and has been writing since.

Meanwhile, Legend's wife Teigen is still dedicated to keeping in shape by working out five days a week. Her trainer, Simone De La Rye explains that her workouts have not drastically changed from her pre-pregnancy workouts.
