Tips For Picking Baby Gender: How To Conceive A Boy Or A Girl

It is natural for a person to have a preference on the gender of his or her child: boy or girl? Because of this, many women exchange ideas and tips for picking baby gender.

Unfortunately, medical experts say that there are no concrete proofs that these ideas and suggestions work. But as the saying goes, there is no harm in trying. Babycentre shared some of these suggestions for those who really want to conceive the gender they prefer.

If you want a boy, here are some suggestions:

1. Have sexual intercourse on the day of your ovulation. Male sperms are supposedly faster swimmers than female sperm so it might reach the egg first during ovulation.

2. Reach orgasm before your partner ejaculates. It will supposedly help your body produce alkaline fluid which is thought to be more accommodating to male sperm.

3. During sexual intercourse, your partner has to be behind you for deeper penetration. "The thought is that with the woman just kinda lying there, the sperms are having an unobstructed, interference-free race to the egg... so the faster boy sperm can get there first," 11 Points shared.

4. Avoid sex one week before ovulation. This is to increase the sperm amount.

5. Avoid milk and dairy products.

If you want a girl, here are some suggestions:

1. Have sex a few days before your ovulation day. "This is because female sperms are thought to be stronger and therefore last longer than male sperm, who will die off before reaching the egg," Babycentre explains.

2. Your male partner should ejaculate before you reach orgasm.

3. Eat milk and dairy products and avoid salty foods.

Remember that these tips for picking baby gender are not medically proven. These suggestions are for women who really want to tip the scales and increase their chances of getting their preferred gender in any way they can.
