'Carmageddon: Max Damage' News & Update: Car Racing Game Coming to PS4, Xbox One

The graphically violent vehicular combat, "Carmageddon," is finally coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with "Carmageddon: Max Damage" later this year. The most famous racer in the game series offers a different kind of gaming experience with new features and modes.

"Set in a world of over-the-top violence, crazy PowerUps and non-stop laughs, you play against a bunch of complete crazies in twisted automotive killing machines whose aim is purely to maim you," the official Stainless Games' website said in a statement. "It's the racing game where racing is for wimps."

According to Trusted Reviews, the page also released the upcoming game's new features, modes and details. The new game has more than 30 custom killing machines, which has their own highly distinctive character.

It also has 10 large open environments ready to be discovered. Additional points can be obtained by looking for a number of moving targets, like pedestrians in wheelchairs, mobility scooters, cyclists, bears and aliens.

Moreover, "Carmageddon: Max Damage" has 6 different event types of career mode and 4 online event types of Multiplayer. It, too, comes with a full blown action replay mode that can show the combat from any angle.

Lastly, it has more than 90 crazy PowerUps, such as complex car damage and repair system, blood, laughs and many more. Meanwhile, Christian Post added that anyone who already bought the first installment, "Carmageddon: Reincarnation," on Steam and for those who helped to fund Kickstart will be able to have a free copy of "Carmageddon: Max Damage."

Digital Trends also noted that the upcoming game will be an upgraded version of its predecessor, which was brought to life by the public-benefit corporation in 2015 for Windows PC. To recall, the original "Carmageddon" was prohibited in the U.K. when it was first launched in 1998.

The British Board of Film Classification only allowed the titled to be released after the game developer changed the pedestrians into plain zombies. Now, expect a gorier and action-packed "Carmageddon: Max Damage" as BBFC is now more liberal than before.
