Two Teenage Boys Asked To Leave McDonald’s For Bringing Cutlery and Tablecloth

An attempt to have a classy meal at McDonald's turned out to be quite an embarrassment for two teenagers in the United Kingdom.

The young boys, Cameron Ford and Adam Welland, went to fast food chain McDonald's in Kingston. They brought a tablecloth and silverware along and decorated their table at the restaurant. Perplexed by their actions, a restaurant employee requested them to leave, the youngsters said.

The staff, however, allowed them to finish their meal. According to the Telegraph, it was with the cutlery that the employee had a problem.

"It was the cutlery, they didn't like us using our own. Forking idiots," Cameron jokingly tweeted.

Following the incident, Cameron posted photos on his Twitter account. "Cheers to my beautiful boyfriend on our special night. Love you Adam." He wrote that they were trying to "bringing romance to the next level." "We just thought the place needed a bit of class."

After getting several tweets about his sexuality, he clarified saying that they were not in a relationship. "Just to clarify to everyone, I'm not gay nor do I have a problem with anybody being gay. It was just a stunt we pulled..."

One of the young boy's friends posted the photo alleging that they were banned from the restaurant for pulling up the prank. However, Adam clarified, "We weren't kicked out in the end, one staff member asked us to stop but he was outruled by others and customers. I'd say more 'asked to leave' than 'kicked out'. Either way, they didn't appreciate it some of the staff found it funny, but others clearly did not," he said.

Following the incident, McDonald's issued a statement saying that they generally request diners who bring cutlery to use "responsibly" and "take away with them after use." "We are aware of the two customers who dined at our Kingston restaurant on Saturday night and are pleased that we were able to offer them an affordable treat. We are happy to provide plastic cutlery to those customers who request it. We ask that any items brought in by customers, such as cups or plates, are used responsibly and taken away with them after use," according to The Telegraph.
