Multinational ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins is offering a limited-time promo for parents where they can purchase discounted products for only $1.99 per scoop.
The new offering will be available to Baskin-Robbins rewards members at participating locations nationwide. In a press release, the company said that the limited-time promo was made because parents also sometimes need permission to give in to their ice cream cravings.
Baskin-Robbins' Parents Pass Promo
The offer, called the "Parent Pass" promotion, is said to be a "scoop-sized sigh of relief for moms and dads who find themselves in survival mode when school's out and camp hasn't quite started yet." Parents can redeem the discounted scoops in-store or via the Baskin-Robbins app on weekdays until June 27.
Marketing executive at Baskin-Robbins Nicole Boutwell said that the days parents spend between the last school bell and the first day of summer camp can be "long, loud, and full of 5 a.m. wake-up calls."
She noted that this was the reason the company decided to give parents a chance to get a break with the Parent Pass promotion. The marketing executive added that the offer is their way of encouraging parents, according to USA Today.
The ice cream company was originally founded by brother-in-laws Irv Robbins and Burt Baskin in 1945. When the brand was first created, ice cream stores typically only had three flavors; strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.
But Baskin-Robbins wanted to make more flavors and later launched 30 unique flavors, which marked a turning point in the industry. Nearly a century later, the company now has about 1,400 different flavors and has opened more than 7,800 stores in over 50 countries outside of the United States.
Limited-Edition Flavors
On top of the Parent Pass, the ice cream company is also collaborating with Trolli for the June flavor of the month, the Trolli Sour Blast. In a press release in May, the companies said that the new limited-edition Trolli treats are a sweet way to reconnect with childhood energy, Woman's World reported.
Their latest creation was inspired by the iconic Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers gummy candy, which gives people a taste of Trolli lime-flavored ice cream and orange-flavored sherbet. It also features lime-flavored swirls twisted into the sour, sweet base.
There is also a dessert, the Trolli Dirt 'n Worms sundae, which is made up of layers of chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, crushed Oreo cookies, and a couple of mini Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers. A temporary addition to the menu is the Trolli Sour Blast Fizz, which blends the Trolli Sour Blast with STARRY Lemon-Lime soda, as per Yahoo Life.
