A group of teenagers brutally attacked an elderly Englishman outside his own home, leaving the victim seriously injured.
Police officers were called to reports of an assault that allegedly took place outside a property on Coutr Road in Snaith at around 8:45 p.m. BST. Humberside Police said that the victim was transferred to the hospital after being beaten following an argument with one member of the group, who had been throwing stones at the house.
Group of Teens Assaults Elderly Man
Det. Insp. Mark Skelton revealed that the group of teenagers, which had about six to eight individuals, quickly fled the scene after the assault on the elderly man. However, he reassured the public that the force was "doing everything possible" to identify the assailants.
Skelton added that they understand incidents of this nature may cause concern within the community, but noted that they are now reviewing CCTV footage and are conducting house-to-house inquiries to find out more about the suspects, according to Yahoo News.
Officials also said that one of the teenagers was described to be roughly 15 years old with blonde hair, 5ft 6in tall, and was wearing a light blue T-shirt at the time of the assault. Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about the suspects to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.
There was a similar incident where four teenagers were arrested in California following an attack on an elderly man in Walnut Creek earlier this month. The incident was said to have occurred on Tice Valley Boulevard near the Rossmoor Shopping Center around 11:00 p.m. on Aug. 7.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the elderly victim with significant injuries. Witnesses then told officials that four people were responsible for attacking the man, who robbed him and quickly drove off, ABC7 News reported.
Law enforcement personnel later revealed they arrested four teenage girls, two who were 18 years old, one who was 17 years old, and another who was 15 years old. Officials noted that the two 18-year-olds, who are considered adults, were booked into Martinez Detention Facility, and the juveniles were booked into juvenile hall.
The two adult suspects were identified by police as Antonina Abdulwajid and Jaycee Benhke, who were both from Concord. Police added that they are being arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon that is not a firearm, causing injury to an elder, and conspiracy to commit a crime, as per CBS News.
