Versatile Mom! 5 Roles That Mothers Need To Fulfill For Their Children

Being a mother is a challenging role. Every mother has flaws and weaknesses but there are certain roles that mothers need to fulfill for their children all the time.

iMom shared the things that children need their moms to be. This list proves just how hard but rewarding being a mother truly is.

1. Mommy as a Superhero

Life is full of ups and downs. When mothers go through life's storms, they need to be strong and stable in front of their kids. Children need this because they desire a sense of safety and security in their lives while growing up. If their moms break down and give up in the middle of a hardship, the kids might do the same in the future.

2. Mommy as a Cheerleader

Kids need a lot of moral support to develop their self-esteem and confidence. Whether it is a recital or a sports activity, moms should be there to cheer for their children. When a kid sees that his own mom is not proud of what he is doing, he might lose interest in exploring and trying new things in the future.

3. Mommy as a Mentor

"No mom can be an expert on everything, but we do want to be a place of resource for our children when they need advice or help," iMom advised. "Make good choices in your own life so that they will trust you in coming to you for advice."

4. Mommy as a Source of Love and Affection

Kids usually withdraw if their moms are always angry, pessimistic and upset. Mothers should be the number one source of affection, comfort, love and peace for kids. Proper correction and disciplining of children are necessary, but kids need to remember their mothers for their unconditional love above everything else.

5. Mommy as a Role Model

One of the most important roles that mothers need to fulfill for their children is being a good role model. "The question is not whether your children will emulate you; they will," The Center for Parenting Education explains. "The question is which behaviors they will imitate. Through role modeling, you have at your disposal a very potent force to influence your children's development in positive ways and make it more likely that they become people you will admire when they mature."

Though it is expected that moms are a bit tough, they are the sweetest, most lovable and most understanding persons in the world. Agree? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
