'The Winds of Winter' Release Date, News & Update: 'Game of Thrones' Trailer Reveals Some of the Book's Plot?

Many fans are looking forward to seeing "The Winds of Winter" in the bookshelves prior to the return of HBO's hit series, "Game of Thrones". Unfortunately, the release date of the anticipated book remains unknown.

Initially, George RR Martin told Entertainment Weekly that he wanted the book to be released before "Game of Thrones" Season 6. Unfortunately, the author did not make it, even after cancelling two conventional appearances and turning down several interviews.

Now, "Game of Thrones" has caught up with "The Winds of Winter" and many are concerned that the plot and twists in the book will be spoiled in the show.

According to iDigitalTimes, these are the potential spoilers in "The Winds of Winter" that are presented in the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 spoilers.

Jon Snow to Abandon the Night's Watch

Kit Harington already confirmed that his character is dead. Parent Herald previously reported that the character would return in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 as a corpse. However, his return might be in for something bigger.

Since the crowd-favorite character died, he is no longer bound by oath of the Night's Watch. The oath, it says, "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death." Thus, Snow will ride South and will take back Winterfell from the Boltons as show in the trailer.

Gregor Clegane Will Retake the Sept of Baelor

The character has been turned to a twisted half-life in both book and on the show. The trailer showed that he would retake the Sept of Baelor from the High Sparrow's religious order.

Theon Returns to the Greyjoys, Stannis Baratheon Doomed

In the preview, chapters of "The Winds of Winter," Stannis captured Theon and he is set to be executed. However, in the "GoT" trailer he returns to the Greyjoys, which may suggest that Stannis is doomed in the book as he is on the show.
