'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date & News Update: Take-Two Interactive President Explains Reason in Time Gap; Title Could Be The Company's Highlight in E3

Many gamers are waiting for the arrival of the sequel of the 2010 open-world action and adventure video game "Red Dead Redemption." "Red Dead Redemption 2" has been making waves online and new reports suggest that it might be the next big thing that Take-Two Interactive will bring to their fans.

Parent Herald previously reported that Rockstar Games will introduce "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the upcoming E3 2016. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed to MVC that the team will be present at the event and even hinted that they will be bringing huge surprises.

"We will be there in a big way," Zelnick said.

Since the team will be in attendance in a big way, VineReport suggests that "Red Dead Redemption 2" might be Take-Two Interactive's highlight in E3. However, although this is appealing, fans should still take this report with a grain of salt because no details about "Red Dead Redemption 2" is confirmed at the time

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is long overdue if fans would look back to when the first game was released. For fans who are wondering why the team avoid frequent or annual updates, Karl Slatoff, company president has finally spoken up, GameSpot reported.

Slatoff revealed that they have no plans of annualising their franchises to avoid franchise fatigue. This strategy also makes the brand more viable.

"We don't intend to change annual strategy because of product fatigue. [Take-Two] creates franchise value and [releases have] to be managed deliberately," Slatoff said.

"It's tempting to have continuous releases and milk a franchise as far as you can, [but] we've seen that fatigue in other franchises in the games industry. With almost every single franchise for us, the latest release is bigger than the one before."

Zelnick shares the same perspective. According to him, their non-sports titles serve them better by building anticipation and demand. "On the one hand to rest the title and on the other hand to have the highest quality in the market, which takes time. You can't do that annually," he explained.
