Heinz Ketchup: 4 Reasons To Switch Ketchup Brands

Heinz Ketchup is preferred by many families, especially those living in North America. Dominating 140 countries with 650 million unit sales per year, there's no doubt that a person hasn't tried this ketchup brand.

However, popularity doesn't necessarily mean quality. David Wolfe listed 4 disturbing facts about the restaurant-favorite condiment - which would likely make you swear off Heinz ketchup soon enough.

1. Nutritional Value

Based on the nutrition facts label featured on the Heinz Ketchup website, there is no - if not, just barely - nutritional value that comes with consuming Heinz ketchup.

2. High Fructose Corn Syrup

Heinz ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup, which has been associated with obesity, heart disease, cancer, liver failure, tooth decay, and even as far as dementia. Additionally, Healthy Food House claims that HFCS and corn syrup are essentially the same thing, but were differentiated to mislead consumers into thinking that the latter is healthier than HFCS.

3. Distilled Vinegar

Distilled vinegar is very acidic to body, which could possibly harden the joints of a consumer. The second highest ingredient on the bottle apparently is produced with GMO corn, in spite of "all natural" advertisements.

4. Untrustworthy

David Wolfe claims that the company isn't one that should be trusted. In fact, Heinz was previously involved in a class action lawsuit, where the company was accused of false advertising - particularly for their "all natural" vinegar.

Although Heinz isn't exactly bad, their ingredients won't do your body any good either. As a matter of fact, it could just worsen your health.
