Morning Sickness Made Kelly Clarkson Reveal Pregnancy News

Kelly Clarkson says that she wasn't ready to reveal her pregnancy but morning sickness pushed her to announce the happy news.

"We were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester ... but everybody kept talking about it (morning sickness) and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill. I didn't want people to think I was cancelling and I'm lazy or something, so we just told people," Kelly told Savannah Guthrie on  Today.

It seems that morning sickness has gripped the 31-year-old singer.  "I don't know why they call it morning sickness, that's my big joke right now," she said.

Despite all the problems she is facing due to pregnancy, Kelly is "super-excited" about it and is "looking forward" to the second trimester.

Kelly shared her pregnancy news on Twitter last week. "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever."

On the show, she predicted that she will be having a girl. "Scientifically, they say if [you get pregnant] after you ovulate, girl sperm lasts longer than boy sperm, at least that's what my doctor told me, and I guess mine was late. It's a gut feeling, too," she added, "Because she's killing me, and of course it's a girl causing the trouble."

Kelly has decided on baby names with hubby Brandon Blackstock and does not want to reveal them as she is afraid they will be stolen by others. "We named our kid before we were even pregnant!" she added.
