Fun Easter Crafts For Kids: Colored Easter Eggs Using Veggie Matter And An Easter Bunny Bookmark

The upcoming Easter Sunday is a day for remembering the resurrection of Christ. Although it can also be a great day for kids, who indulge in the fun-filled festivities. Easter eggs, chocolates and bunnies: what's not to love?

There are plenty of fun Easter crafts for kids that you can make. Seattle Times shared how to dye Easter eggs with vegetables and Martha Stewart shared how to make an Easter bunny bookmark. This is a great way to spend time with your children making arts and crafts while celebrating the holiday.

In order to dye easter eggs with vegetables, you will need one cup of red onion skins, one bag of Red Zinger tea, one cup of shredded red beets and two tablespoons of ground turmeric. The first step in dying easter eggs with vegetables is to boil the vegetable matter of choice in one cup of water.

The vegetable matter should be covered and boiled for 15 to 30 minutes. The next step is to strain the liquid and put one tablespoon of white vinegar into the mix. After that, your hard boiled eggs should be dunked on the liquid and left there for 30 minutes.

"If they aren't as vibrant as you want them to be after 30 minutes, try dunking them a little while longer," Seattle Times explains. "When you remove the egg from the jar, pat it very gently with a paper towel - rubbing it will remove a lot of the color."

Aside from coloring easter eggs with vegetable matter, making an Easter bunny bookmark is also a great Easter arts and crafts activity for kids. You will need a honey bunny bookmark template, thick paper, sealable laminate sheets, scissors, white chenille pipe cleaners, wire clippers, puncher and a picture of your child.

The first step is to print the honey bunny bookmark template using your thick paper. Next is to laminate both sides of the thick paper using the sealable laminate sheets.

After that, you need to cut out the printed and laminated bookmark, wrap white chenille stems around the limbs, head and ears of the bookmark. "Clip with wire clippers, and tuck in ends when finished," Martha Stewart added. "To make the head, use an inch and a half hole punch to make a disk from the same sheet of paper used to cut out the template."

The next step involves making a hole at the center of the disk using a puncher. After that, you need to twist white chenille pipe cleaners through the disk hole created by the puncher and glue a cut out picture of your child to the disk.
