‘Smart Pacifier’: How Technology Helps Parents Track the Baby’s Temperature

Blue Maestro releases a "smart pacifier" called Pacif-i to help the parents know about the baby's temperature without disturbing them. It can detect the baby's temperature just by connecting it to a smartphone.

According to PSFK, Richard Hancock, CEO of Blue Maestro, said, "If a baby is too hot, they have trouble regulating their temperature and they can't get to sleep."

"This application provides parents with a very easy way to monitor their child's temperature and take action," he added.

It can even record what prescription should parents give their children just by using the Pacif-i application. This helps parents consult for minor medical concerns without going to the child's pediatrician, which helps busy parents focus on their work more.

"Pacif-i is a connected device that has a life beyond its connectivity," Hancock said. "Take away the connected features from other products, and they essentially become useless gadgets."

According to Yahoo, it was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show that Pacif-i is a common pacifier that takes the baby's temperature by using a sensor that connects to an Android or iOS device. The mobile application will record daily temperature on a graph form.

Pacif-i will provide updates on child health instantly. It can also notify the treatment plan in an event of an unexpected sickness. Pacif-i proves a huge convenience in everyday situation.

The gadget produces a low-energy Bluetoooth signal that connects to the parents' smartphone every two minutes; it can also work as an outstanding location tracker. The signal can reach up to 100 feet, or it will be cut off.

Blue Maestro said that it is still being evaluated by the FDA in the United States. But online reservation and orders are ongoing from local to overseas stores and priced at £49.00, vat not included.
