It was not a happy sight for the lovers of Santa Claus during SantaCon 2013, an annual New York pub crawl, Saturday.

The New York City streets were flooded with hundreds of drunken Santas, pissing, puking and beating each other in public.

SantaCon, an annual event that began in San Francisco in 1994, draws massive participants who dress as Santa Claus, reported New York Daily News.

According to the Gothamist, New York Police Department was called to control the annual binge drinking party after receiving several complaints. The authorities gave out at least 10 summonses by early morning. This disappointed quite a lot of revellers. "You can't have a good time when the cops are hovering over you," 23-year-old medical assistant Ashley Urciuoli told the Gothamist.

And by the "good time" these revellers, all dressed as Santa, meant showing middle-finger to the passersby, puking, urinating and falling over the streets of New York.

NYPD had to request bar owners not to serve the SantaCon participants, who thronged from places around the U.S.

The official SantaCon Twitter account instructed these drunken Santas to go to the Crown Heights/Bed-Stuy area. But some head to different directions creating ruckus throughout the time, reported the Examiner.

The social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram were too flooded with constant updates of these drunken Santas and their antics.

The SantaCon free zones put hoardings telling the revellers to go somewhere and party. "Take your body fluids and public intoxication elsewhere," read one such board, according to news.com.au.
