'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' Release Date, News & Update: Developer Hopes Game Will Make Players 'Laugh' & 'Cry'

The fourth and final video of the "Making Of" series for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was just released by Naughty Dog.

In the clip, which was titled "In the End," the developers and actors talked about their experiences working in the game franchise and how it grew in many ways over the past ten years.

The developers said the characters in "Uncharted 4," like Nathan Drake, Sam Drake, and Elena, are ultra-realistic, which can make players feel a bunch of emotions.

"As you play through the series, you do begin to develop an affinity for the characters and an understanding of what motivates them," lead artist Tate Mosesian said, as quoted by GameSpot. "I hope that this game brings that all to a nice crescendo. I hope people cry when they play it, and I hope they laugh when they play it."

Co-director Bruce Straley has said that "Uncharted 4" is the "most visually stunning game ever created," GameSpot reported. In an interview with Huffington Post, Straley shared that the fourth installment tries to get "personal with who Nathan Drake is" and "explore" him more as a human than in the previous "Uncharted" games.

Delays have hampered the release date of "Uncharted 4." The game, which is exclusive in PlayStation 4, was first set to be launched in 2015, but was later moved to March 2016. Another delay occurred and scheduled it to April 2016 before its latest postponement to May 2016. It has now been reported that the game has gone gold, which means "Naughty Dog" has finished the development process on the base game.

'Uncharted 4' Art Book

Sony has made an art book featuring "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." Scheduled to roll out in May in standard and limited edition varieties, the 176-page art book is a collaboration between Naughty Dog and Dark Horse Books, a separate report from GameSpot noted.

The art book showcases never-before-seen artwork alongside commentary from Naughty Dog. The book's standard, hardcover edition can be purchased for $40, with pre-orders available on the PlayStation Gear store prior to its release date on May 10.

The limited edition is exclusive to the Gear store for $90. The edition, which only has 1,500 copies, comes with a mini lithograph and a slipcase.
