iPad Pro Review, News & Update: Apple Tablet Powerful But Not A Laptop Alternative

Last week, Apple introduced their new gadgets including iPhone SE and iPad Pro. These new gadgets are promising. However, are they really worth it, especially iPad Pro?

Parent Herald previously reported that customers were unhappy about iPad Pro's 2GB RAM. In fact, one commented: "Oh a top notch performance with 2GB ram!! Is it 2014!! SST- small student toys !!."

Apple is marketing iPad Pro as a good replacement for laptops. One can use iPad Pro for work purposes because it is already equipped with Microsoft Office and other productivity-oriented apps. It can also be used for browsing, reading, watching movies, and more.

However, per USA Today, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is not a good laptop alternative. The handset is powerful and pricey. Per the report, the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil digital stylus amount to $847 and its about $1300 with all those accessories plus additional storage and cellular.

"When I reviewed the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, I said that I was having trouble envisioning the type of user who would choose it over a "real" computer like a MacBook Air or Pro," said Andrew Cunningham, who also thinks that iPad Pro is not a good alternative to computers per MacRumors.

"I still feel the same way today. The full-size Pro is large enough and expensive enough that you could buy any number of high-end Macs or Windows PCs for the same price, and you wouldn't have to put up with the potentially frustrating limitations of iOS."

However, Cunningham also praised the 9.7-inch iPad Pro for some of its features. The smaller iPad Pro is more "pro" than iPad Air 2, although both share some features. It is also more advanced and even better than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro but it's not as big and not as fast, Ars Technica reported.

Are you sold to Apple's marketing that iPad Pro is a great alternative to computers? Will you buy the new iPad Pro instead of a new laptop? Share your thoughts below.
