"Person of Interest" Season 5 air date is on Tuesday, May 3. The show's premiere for the upcoming season was announced via its official Facebook page on Sunday, Apr. 3.

"Person of Interest" Season 5 will also be airing new episodes every Monday and Tuesday all the way to its series finale on Tuesday, June 21. Many fans were excited to hear that their favorite CBS sci-fi drama will soon be back on TV, but some expressed disappointment over the show's cancellation.

Many fans are still hopeful that "POI" Season 5 may be renewed for more seasons in another network such as Netflix. An ongoing petition is being raised to renew the series for more episodes via the online streaming service.

"Netflix should pick up this series if it winds up being cancelled...It's just too good," commented a user named Sean Hodges.

Netflix, however, has yet to confirm whether they have any plans of renewing "Person of Interest" in their network. The petition has already received over 30,000 supporters as of writing.

According to the publication, rumors are rife that Root and Sameen's relationship will become of the show's focus in "POI" Season 5. Finch and the rest of the team will also have to do whatever it takes to protect the world from the Samaritan and Decima Technologies.
