Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens Reunion In ‘High School Musical 4’ Impossible? Actor Refuses To Work With Ex Girlfriend?

Many fans were thrilled when Disney announced that "High School Musical 4" was in the works. While a lot of people are expecting to see its former cast reprise their respective roles in the upcoming installment, rumors are rife that Zac Efron refuses to reprise his role as Troy Bolton because of his ex girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' reunion in "High School Musical 4" seems likely impossible to happen. According to Fashion & Style, rumors are rife that the couple's relationship is beyond repair after their split in 2010.

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron's split was reportedly so bad that the two have been avoiding each other at all costs. In the recent "High School Musical" reunion, Efron's absence sparked rumors that he and Hudgens are still avoiding each other.

Hudgens attended the event along with Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman to celebrate the movie's 10th anniversary. Efron, however, said that he was busy promoting his upcoming film, "Dirty Grandpa," which explains his absence from the "HSM" reunion.

However, rumors are rife that Efron will continue to distance himself from anything related to "High School Musical." In an earlier interview, the 28-year-old actor said that he has already moved on from his role.

"I try not look at all of it. You can't enjoy or celebrate it; it's not a real thing. The face on the lunchbox and s***, you can't share that with your friends," said Efron.

Well, it turns out Efron is not the only one missing in "HSM 4." According to Romper, the original cast of the popular franchise will not be returning to the show at all.

Instead, "High School Musical 4" will be introducing "a new class of East High Wildcats" to continue the story. However, there are also rumors that Ashley Tisdale will be making a cameo appearance as Sharpay.
