The Disney Channel series "Girl Meets World" is one of the most-loved shows on TV, garnering the attention of not just the younger population, but also those belonging to the mature audience. As the show is about to enter its third season, many fans began wondering about the longstanding love triangle between its lead characters, Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Lucas (Peyton Mayer) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter).

In an interview with series creator Michael Jacobs, it was revealed that "Girl Meets World" Season 3 will finally provide a conclusion to this love triangle. However, the showrunner shared that the love triangle will reveal something deeper and more meaningful.

"And then we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships? What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really," he told TheWrap.

"Girl Meets World" Season 3 is also expected to go through a big shift, which will see the show take on heavier and more mature subjects. Jacobs, however, admitted that the network's audience will still be taken into consideration when tackling these kinds of topics on TV.

Meanwhile, Carter Matt reports that filming for "GMW" Season 3 will begin this week. In a Twitter post, August Maturo shared a photo of the cast and crew filming for the upcoming episode titled, "Girl Meets True Maya."

Several reports claim that this "Girl Meets World" Season 3 episode may show Maya exploring her true sexuality while others note on the possibility that Maya may move on from Lucas because her friendship with Riley is more important for her.
