Health News & Updates: 3 Signs Of Depression; No. 3 Is Alarming

Contrary to popular belief that depression is not a big deal because it is just a state of being sad, facts about it would make you think otherwise. It is best to be aware of the definition of depression, its signs and symptoms and how are you going to solve it.

The National Institute of Mental Health published a booklet stating that depression is a real disease. People could experience depression in many ways and despite being a serious matter, you shouldn't be afraid of it since it is treatable. Here are the three signs that a person is experiencing depression.

1. Taste Buds Are Not Working:

The Crimson noted one of these signs of depression that affects your eating. This means that people who are depressed are not able to taste their food. If you ever find yourself eating and you can't even distinguish the flavor of your food, then it is a huge sign that you are experiencing depression.

2. You Feel All Alone:

It doesn't matter that you know there are people who love you because depression would still make you feel alone. Thoughts that nobody understands you are always creeping in, especially when you are alone in your room.

3. All You Do Is Sleep:

If you're always tired even after doing nothing and just wants to sleep all day, you are most likely depressed. Finding security in the comfort of their bed is what depressed people do. This helps them escape from their worries and feeling of hopelessness.

Once these three things start happening in your life, it is best to consult with a professional to handle your depression. It all starts with these three until thoughts of taking your own life become an option. It is never too late to ask for help. Share this information with your loved ones because this could save a life.
