Food Cravings: Studies Reveal the Specific Days of the Week That Make You Vulnerable to Food Cravings

Recent study reveals that there's a specific day of the week wherein some individuals would give in to their food cravings. It was mentioned that Friday, Saturday and Wednesdays are the days that people would prefer treating themselves with good food.

According to Mirror, there's a specific day of the week wherein tired individuals would increase their vulnerability to food cravings. A survey conducted in Britain revealed that an average British household orders five takeaways per month. For the Brits, takeaways are often described as a weekly treat, where they would enjoy a good Chinese takeout or binge-eat on fast food.

Food cravings are unavoidable; it is, however, the body's way to ask for the necessary nutrients it lacks. According to Mail Online, food cravings are signals that the body is sending out to inform the brain that it lacks a specific nutrient.

In most UK households, the study revealed that Friday night is usually labeled as a takeaway night, or better known as a weekly treat. In a survey related to the study, 39 percent would result in buying food as their weekly treat, while 32 percent would result in night out with shopping. Twenty-three percent of the participants mentioned night outs as their treat while the remaining 21 percent would opt for a trip to the cinema.

Yvonne Adam, the person who commissioned the study in lieu of their Chip Shop mentioned that she is delighted to know that aside from takeaways, most Brits would prefer recreating their favorite dishes. While some would resort to takeaways, there are those that would recreate their favorite dish for health reasons when it comes to satisfying their food cravings. Fish and chips still emerged as the top comfort food all throughout Britain.

"It's great to see that fish and chips is still at the heart of the nation," Adam, the marketing director of Young's Seafood told Mirror. "Whilst it's clear that we love treating ourselves to a takeaway, recreating the delicious authentic taste of fish and chips at home has never been easier or healthier with the Young's Chip Shop range."
